Speech Challenge

For my second homework Task I did an activity from the Excellence in arts category It activity is Prepare and present a speech on a topic of your choice at a Rimu Hui. I completed this task while running for house leader. Here is a copy of my speech:

Hello my name is Kyle and I would like to be one of the 2013 RIMU house leaders. I think I would make a fantastic house leader and there are several reasons that support my argument. they are:

1 I have excellent communication skills with both adults and kids. I am also not scared to speak up around grown ups.2 I think I’d make a good house leader because I treat everyone with respect. 3 I am very organized and I have good time management skills. As I have never missed my bus.  4 I enjoy working in a team as you can tell because I only play team sports. I participated in the 12 hour relay last year. I have good sportsmanship as i have won sportsman of the year twice for my rugby team.  5 I am responsible as I hardly ever loose anything 6 I always try to achieve as high as possible in my school work and sport 7 I am a good school citizen as for two terms last year I bought in a lunch each week for students without lunch.  8 To be a good house leader I think you need a pretty good sense of humor. I think i’ve got one of those. Here’s a joke, What did the dog say when he sat on the sandpaper? Rough! Rough!

I also help run the assembly media booth. I think I was picked for this job because I am good under pressure, dedicated and have good organization skills. These are all things that a good house leader needs.

I would like to become a Rimu house leader because it would be cool to have some input into things that affect me. I think I would make an awesome rimu house leader and I hope that i’m picked.Thank you for listening
