Aims 7's
Last week was aims week I played 7's For the Tauranga Intermediate Invitation Team. We played 13 games over 4 days at Greerton Marist. I got 3 tries and got man of the tournament for our team.
On our first day we won 3 out of 4 games against Aquinas College 40-7 , John Paul College 21-17 and Bucklands Beach 19-14. Then on Tuesday we won 1 out of 4 games. We won against Cambridge Middle School 21-20. Then on Wednesday we won 1 game against Te Kura O Mauao because they got disqualified we played drew against Taukau College. Then on Friday we only played one game and lost, an unfortunate end to a great Tournament.
I reall liked the opening ceremony especially the urban dance performance and the boys choir performance. My Favourite part of the aims game was when we played Aquinas College and won 40-7 and I scored a try.
SPCA Talk]
Today Norm Hewwit visited our school. He came to talk to us about the SPCA and how if you treat animals nicely you will grow up to be respectful person. He also told us that we should dream, he got this message through by using his past to perswade us.
Norm Grew up in Pironghia he had 6 siblings. He also went to a small school which only had 21 pupils so 1/3 of them were his family, so when he always got in trouble his siblings would be on his side.
At home norm's dad abused him and family. Norm could tell by the way his dad got out of the car after he had been at the bar weither he was angry or not. So when heard his father get out he would either go sit on tommy (his horse) he would block out all the noise from his dad's beatings. When Norm was nine he promised himself that he wouldn't hurt his children or wife.
When norm was a kid he liked three things they were fish and chips, Cowboys and all blacks. When norm. One day Norm and his family was watching the rugby and norm got up infront of the TV and said one day im gonna be an all black.

WALT: describe the setting of a story using ‘show’ not ‘tell’
SC:
- to use descriptive language to help the reader visualise the setting
- to use language that activates the readers’ senses e.g smell and sound
- to use similes and metaphors to describe the setting
- to use interesting vocab to describe the setting
Did you achieve the SC?
The muddy grass squishes between my frozen toes as the hooter goes behind me. I steadily walk off toward where I am playing. As I walk past one of the many fields A small boy dives over the line, The whistle blows and the crowd goes Nuts. I walk past another couple of small fields before. I finally walk between two bigs stands. I sit down a start putting my brightly colored footwear
1.Is it A rugby field???
2.Many fields, muddy grass, hooter, small boy dives over the line, Brightly Coloured footwear
3.G
4I think you should have used some similes but you described the field really good.
