Swimming sports

On the Friday the 22nd of march I participated in Rimu house swimming sports at memorial park . I got a 3rd in 25m freestyle, a 3rd in breath stroke and a 2nd in doggie paddle. Also participated in 25m  breath stroke, 25m doggie paddle, 25m underwater, 25m dolphin dive, 25m freestyle and 50m freestyle

Cooking challenge

Homework On Sunday night I decided to do my 3rd homework task I choose to start this task is from the giving category this is what the includes prepare 3 formal three course meals, including the menu, cooking and presenting, photographs of the meal and feedback from your guests.  

Feed back 

Mum: I really enjoyed the fresh fish... mmmm!!  The brandy snaps were
also very yum!  Thank you for another really lovely meal Kyle.

Dad: As a starter we had mussels, they were steamed and the flavour was great, then we had fresh snapper which is always good. The brandy snaps finished a great dinner, well mate.

Rachael (sister): it was a delicious meal but, the mussels needed more flavor.

Fishing Competition

On the weekend I entered a fishing competition at the mount. It was good day and we got our share of fish we ended up with 15 snapper and 7 giant kawhai. One of the kawhai even won biggest fish. Here are some pictures on our day

At school we have started an inquiry on the impact of man this is a video that mrs mills showed up to start of the inquiry

Speech Challenge

For my second homework Task I did an activity from the Excellence in arts category It activity is Prepare and present a speech on a topic of your choice at a Rimu Hui. I completed this task while running for house leader. Here is a copy of my speech:

Hello my name is Kyle and I would like to be one of the 2013 RIMU house leaders. I think I would make a fantastic house leader and there are several reasons that support my argument. they are:

1 I have excellent communication skills with both adults and kids. I am also not scared to speak up around grown ups.2 I think I’d make a good house leader because I treat everyone with respect. 3 I am very organized and I have good time management skills. As I have never missed my bus.  4 I enjoy working in a team as you can tell because I only play team sports. I participated in the 12 hour relay last year. I have good sportsmanship as i have won sportsman of the year twice for my rugby team.  5 I am responsible as I hardly ever loose anything 6 I always try to achieve as high as possible in my school work and sport 7 I am a good school citizen as for two terms last year I bought in a lunch each week for students without lunch.  8 To be a good house leader I think you need a pretty good sense of humor. I think i’ve got one of those. Here’s a joke, What did the dog say when he sat on the sandpaper? Rough! Rough!

I also help run the assembly media booth. I think I was picked for this job because I am good under pressure, dedicated and have good organization skills. These are all things that a good house leader needs.

I would like to become a Rimu house leader because it would be cool to have some input into things that affect me. I think I would make an awesome rimu house leader and I hope that i’m picked.Thank you for listening

Benefits of working with a buddy:
You can bounce ideas of each other to come up with the best possible answer.
When you get stuck your buddy can pick you up and help you.
 
Difficulty that I overcame:
Youtube loaded very slowly while uploading the video.

My First Month At School

In my first month at school we have played lots of sport which has pleased me lots I have learnt skills in touch rugby, softball, volleyball and cricket. In PE time we have started zumba and kenpo which has been interesting because I have never really trailed. I tried out for house leader but unfortunatly Lachlan was choosen.
